Quiet Weather Today, So Let's Look At Storm Videos

Almost no color on the map of the United States on the National
Weather Service home page this morning. A lack of different
colors peppering the map means very few weather warnings
and alerts were in effect today.
The nation's weather is remarkably quiet today, especially since it's June and it can get quite volatile this time of year.

True, there might be some severe storms and tornadoes in North Dakota this afternoon. After last week's torrential rains, flooding continues along the Potomac River near Washington DC.

And there might be some local flash floods here and there in the Northern Plains over the next couple of days.

Here in Vermont, it's cool and showery, as has been forecast, with seasonable temperatures returning later in the week.

The weather will certainly get active again in parts of the nation as we head further into June, so I'm sure we'll have more to talk about coming up soon.

Here's some videos.

We'll start with a really pretty sunset tornado in Illinois last week. It has this cool pink color doesn't it? (The tornado some damage to local farms and buildings.)

Also, recently, a nighttime hail storm really hit Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. People woke up to a very wintry landscape because the deep accumulated hail was still on the ground.

The city of Morlaix, France was hit by a flash flood that was reminiscent of the Ellicott City, Maryland disaster a couple weeks ago.
